## 3D printing [#3d-printing]

3D printing turns a digital 3D model into a physical object by laying down melted filament layer by layer. The printer follows instructions from a sliced file, which tells it where to move, how hot to be, and how much filament to extrude.

### Bambu Lab workflow [#bambu-lab-workflow]

1. Create a [Bambu Lab account](https://bambulab.com/).
2. Install the Bambu Handy mobile app and Bambu Studio for macOS.
3. Go to the 3D printer, log out from the current printer profile, and scan the printer QR code with the Bambu Handy app.

4. Open Bambu Studio on macOS. The printer should sync automatically after the mobile app binding.
5. Import your model, choose the printer/filament profile, click **Slice**, then send it to the printer.

6. Before printing, spray glue on the area of the build plate where the print will go.
7. When the print finishes, wait until the plate is safe to touch, pop the 3D print off the plate, and remove the test/purge filament line on the side.

Leave the plate clean and ready for the next person.

### Filament [#filament]

Filaments are paid either by BigHub or by Tomáš. If you print regularly, please buy and bring more filament as well. You might be using Tomáš's filament.
